Amanda Metskas

Amanda has been involved with Camp Quest since 2003. She has served as President of the Board since June 2005, and prior to that served as Board Secretary for a year. In addition to her work with Camp Quest, Amanda is a Ph.D. Candidate in political science at Ohio State University. While at camp, Amanda leads educational activities on critical thinking, debate, and international relations. Her favorite activities at camp are group games, famous freethinkers, and canoeing.

August Brunsman

August has been on the Camp Quest Ohio staff since 1999, and served on the Board of Directors of Camp Quest, Inc. from 2002 until 2007. He currently serves as the Camp Director of Camp Quest Ohio. In addition to his work with Camp Quest, August is the Executive Director of the Secular Student Alliance, a non-profit organization that supports student Freethought groups on high school and college campuses around the world. His favorite activities at camp are canoeing, swimming, and biology.

Chelsea Pavey

Chelsea Pavey has been a part of Camp Quest since 1997. After attending as a camper for several years became a staff member in 2004. Since then she has served as Assistant Camp Director and is currently Program Director. Outside of camp Chelsea is a student at Georgia State University and works. At camp Chelsea makes sure camp runs smoothly and helps leads various activities. Her favorite camp activities are team games, whistling and other music programs and canoeing.

Shawn Jeffers

Shawn has served on Camp Quest Ohio staff since 2003 and was a member of the Camp Quest Inc. Board of Directors from 2003-2007. He currently serves as Camp Registrar and Treasurer. While at Camp, Shawn leads campers in songs and games around the campfire, teaches camp craft and fire-making, and coordinates snack time. Outside of camp, he is Director of Programs at BRIDGES for a Just Community in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shawn is an active volunteer serving as Program Chair for the Free Inquiry Group of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and on the Board of GLSEN Greater Cincinnati.

Katie Hladky

Katie has been on the Camp Quest staff since 2003, and the Board of Directors in 2005. She currently serves as the Board Secretary, and is most likely the one you will hear from if you email ohio@camp-quest.org. In addition to her work for Camp Quest, Katie is a Ph.D. student in religious studies at Florida State University. While at camp, Katie provides brief mealtime talks about world religions of interest to campers, as well as leading other activities.
